Abstract
Primary malignant lymphoma of the thyroid gland is a rare disease. About 250 cases have been reported in the world literature since 1900. On both clinical and pathological grounds, this tumor can be mistaken for other lesions of the thyroid gland, especially Hashimoto¢¥s thyroiditis and small cell anaplastic carcinoma.
This disease occurs predominantly in elderly woman who present with histories of rapid enlargement of the thyroid gland, often with dysphagia, hoarseness, and symptoms of tracheal compression.
Two patients with primary malignant lymphoma of the thyroid gland have recently prese-nted at the Severance hospital. We reported theses two cases and reviewed the literatures.
